The BBC Dr. Who Audio Books
BBC Doctor Who Books in Audio format have always been very popular over the years, with releases
going back as far as the mid seventies on LP and cassette! Even to this day the BBC continues to bring out old and new Doctor Who
episodes in Audiobook form, now in Doctor Who Dowload format.
Many of the Dr. Who Audio Books from the original series are of lost Dr. Who episodes that have had to be re-performed by the original actors in
the form of novels. Others are of radio Doctor Who episodes that were never released on video and some have been written for Audiobook release
only! Also a large number of the Doctor Who episodes have been released in soundtrack form with linking narration by actors who played the
Dr.
The BBC Dr. Who Audio Book Releases
From 1995 to 1997 three sets of new stories and seven new recordings of old serials in novel format were produced and put on sale to the
public in cassette form (You can Now Download Doctor Who Audio episodes in quality Digital Audio format from this website,
inc. the titles mentioned here). The new BBC Doctor Who stories were narrated by varies actors who had worked in the Dr. Who
scene before and the new recordings were done by the original Drs. so as to preserve their authenticity. These recordings were re-released in
2004 in two collections: Tales From The TARDIS Volume One
and Tales From The TARDIS Volume Two. From 2005 to 2007 three new
sets of BBC Dr. Who Books in Audio form were released as novels. The first containing serials from the William
Hartnell era and the second from the new David Tenant era along with a special Novel dedicated to the history of the
Daleks (The Dalek Conquests).
